The basics: your name, preferred contact details, and details relevant to your charter, such as your arrival time at the marina, so your yacht and crew are ready for you.
If you leave a review, we collect what you submit, including your name and the content of the review. We also collect some technical information from the device you use to browse our site, such as IP address, browser type, language and currency preferences, which helps us present the site properly for you.
Depending on your booking, we may also ask for your address, phone number, payment details, date of birth, and the names of any guests travelling with you. If you’re booking on behalf of others, please make sure they’re aware of this.
We sometimes receive information about you from our charter partners or other travel partners we work with, where that’s needed to arrange your charter.
Mostly, it’s to make your charter as smooth as possible, for example, requesting a crew list in advance so you’re not doing paperwork at the marina, or working out the best way and language to contact you in.
We also use your information for marketing, so we can send you relevant offers, share posts from our journal, or let you know about a good sailing deal. Before you set off, we may send you practical information about your destination or upcoming trip. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time via the link in the email, or by contacting us directly.
We may share relevant information with trusted third parties strictly to process your booking, for example passing payment details to our payment provider, or confirming details with your charter partner. Any third party we work with is bound to keep your data confidential and use it only for the purpose we’ve instructed.
We may also disclose information where required by law, or where necessary to prevent, investigate or address fraud or unlawful activity, or to protect our rights or those of our charter partners.
We never sell or rent your personal data to anyone.
We don’t print or store your personal data offline. Everything is encrypted on our servers, with access limited to a small number of authorised people who need it to do their work. We use appropriate technical and organisational safeguards to protect the information you share with us.
You can ask us for an overview of the personal data we hold about you, request a correction, or ask us to delete it, at any time, by emailing info@marea.click. Where you have an account with us, some of this you can manage directly yourself.
We retain your data for as long as we reasonably need it, to provide our services, maintain your account, meet our legal obligations, and resolve any disputes. If you’d like to know how long we keep a specific type of data, just ask.
